Kids Online Magazine Is Looking For Kid's Valentines Poems And Drawings
A new website, KidsOnlineMagazine.com, gives kids a place to show off their writing and artwork to other kids all over the world!
We are now looking for valentines poems and drawings to go into our February edition of the online magazine. Kids can send in poems and drawings for their sweetheart (sweethearts can be friends, parents, grandparents, or anyone else), and we will put them in a special valentine's section of the site.
With an adult's help, they can also buy a valentine's bear, candy mug, or box of chocolates for that person that has a link to our valentine's section printed on it. Then their sweetheart can log on and look at their poem or drawing year round and know that they are loved.
This is a great way for kids to give something to their valentine. They don't have to buy the merchandise to have their poem or drawing placed on the site.
We are also looking for children's writing and art on other subjects. We publish children's work year round. Our most popular section is the fiction section where kids can send in the stories that they make up. We also have sections for poems, jokes, crafts, recipes, and more. If a child sends in writing on a topic that we do not have a section for, we'll create a new section just for him! All of our content is created by children.
Every child who sends in a submission will have his or her work placed somewhere on the website. Any form of writing will be accepted, as long as it is age-appropriate. There is even an online refrigerator where children can show off their artwork. Kids up to 18 years of age may submit work.
Parents and teachers, this is a great way to get kids excited about writing, and to help them become more confident in their writing abilities. Your children can even send their url to their friends and family to show off their work.
The website was created by a work at home mother, Shana Brumlow, and her 7 year old daughter Nikki, who loves to write stories. According to Shana, We came up with the idea over lunch one afternoon. Nikki loves to write stories and we started talking about how cool it would be to create a website where kids could read her stories and also send in their own. After more brainstorming, we decided to make it an online magazine.
Nikki thinks that the coolest thing about the website is that your friends and people all over the world can see what you did. You can put pictures, you can put stories, you can put all kinds of stuff!
Children are encouraged to send in their best work, but a submission will not be denied because of poor grammar or for any other reason other than inappropriateness. All children will be able to share their work, regardless of their age or developmental level.
We are working on a new section to help children organize their thoughts and write creatively. Our newest addition to that section is an article for young writers by Elvira Woodruff, the author of many popular children's books.
