KIDS 4 KIDS Tennis Carnival Raises Funds For Kids Foundation
The Second Annual Verizon Wireless Kids 4 Kids Tennis
Carnival presented by Coggin Automotive Group raised more than $22,000 to benefit MaliVai
Washington Kids Foundation.
The event was held at the ATP in Ponte Vedra and had nearly 100 participants.
Each participant was asked to raise a minimum of $35 in pledges in order to play.
There were many activities at the event such as a bounce house, clowns, music, games and
prizes and a caricature artist as well as Tennis on the Move and other tennis drills and games.
The event culminated with a doubles exhibition match with MaliVai Washington and David
Witt defeating Todd Martin and Brian Gottfried.
We had youth from all over Jacksonville come out to play, said MaliVai Washington, president
of MWKF. It means a lot to see a sport such as tennis bringing our youth together.
The MaliVai Washington Kids Foundation was established in 1994 to use tennis as a tool to
develop positive life skills and encourage academic achievement in youth who otherwise might
not be exposed to the sport. MWKF has introduced tennis into the lives of more than 10,000
local children.
